We have included detailed answers to questions we receive most often, please call us at any time for more information.

  • When should I consider a certificate program?

There are many reasons to consider one of our courses, each student has their own goals in doing so. Depending on the precise course chosen, the benefits may vary. In general, a certificate II, III or IV through one of our accredited programs will assist students with their ability to effectively and efficiently find employment and will help each student properly prepare for their profession by providing them with practical experience.

  • How can I use my certificate?

In some instances, a certificate II or certificate III might be a prerequisite for another required course. However, the certification alone helps prospective employers know you have been trained in the industry you are looking for a career in, it instils confidence during the job application process.

  • How long does the program take?

The length of time a course takes varies depending on the course method chosen by the student. For a consistent schedule of face to face meetings, the length a course varies between 10 to 15 weeks in most instances, although some courses are much shorter. For more extended and specialised programs spread out over time, the class might take as many as 26 weeks.

  • What is the difference between Certificate II and III?

The higher the certificate, the more specialised and in-depth the course curriculum is likely to be. In some instances, higher certificates, such as certificate III and certificate IV, require prerequisite courses. To learn more about the exact course structure of our programs, contact us via phone call today.

  • Who do I contact about eligibility and course funding?

Our team here at Blue Stone Medical & Professional can help you with eligibility and the financial assistance process. There are other organisations you can contact first about financial assistance, although we recommend reaching out to us to get the registration process started.

  • Does a certificate help me find employment?

Yes. Although we cannot guarantee employment immediately after the completion of one of our accredited training courses, providing a certificate that is relevant to your industry helps employers know and trust you have received practical knowledge and hands-on experience within the industry.

  • What are nominal co-contribution fees and how do they work?

Nominal co-contribution fees are the student’s required financial contribution towards the cost of a government-subsidised course when enrolled through a traineeship pathway. These fees are determined by the Department of Trade Employment and Training (DTET), and are calculated based on the nominal hours assigned to each unit of competency in your course.

The standard rate is $1.60 per nominal hour. For eligible students, a concessional rate of 40% of the standard fee (i.e. $0.64 per nominal hour) applies. Eligibility for the concessional rate includes:

    • Holding a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veteran Card
    • Being a partner or dependant of someone who holds one of the above cards
    • Identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    • Being under 17 years of age, not enrolled in school, and not having completed Year 12

Eligibility is assessed during enrolment and supporting documentation may be required.
